HS/ASSOCIATE SCIENTIST 1The Department of Neurology at University of New Mexico (UNM) Health Science Center (HSC) is seeking a motivated Associate Scientist to conduct research with Dr. Guangbin Xia. The successful applicant will be assisting in research of disease-specific induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) and therapeutic genome editing for Myotonic Dystrophy type 1 (DM1). Dr. Xia is using human iPS cells as cellular models to investigate the pathogenic mechanism of nucleotide expansion-related neurodegenerative disorders and to explore therapeutic strategies through genome editing. The Director of Research and Evaluation will lead the team at the ECHO Institute focused on performing research and evaluation on ECHO programs, as well as anchoring a global community of researchers working on ECHO programs.
