The Office of Sponsored Projects is seeking a highly motivated individual, who will report directly to the Director of Sponsored Projects, and will manage and oversee the day-to-day activities and work assignments of staff in the Office of Sponsored Projects who assist and support principal investigators on the Main and Branch campuses. The Manager advises faculty and staff on established guidelines, policies, and protocols governing sponsored research including biomedical research, human subject research, conflict of interest, and export control, ensuring compliance with all applicable University of New Mexico Policies & Procedures, sponsoring agency, state and federal requirements, standards and regulations. The successful candidate will oversees all aspects of staffing for the Office, including recruitment, training, coaching, and performance reviews. The Manager will also mentors, lead, and guide staff development efforts and be able to establish effective working relationships with faculty and staff engaged in sponsored project research activities. The Manager will be expected to coordinate campus-wide training related to the electronic proposal submission and award management systems, and to develop and implement policies and procedures related to electronic proposal submissions to ensure the effective and timely management of documents. Another responsibility is to coordinate and produce special statistical reports, proposals, and analyses for the Office of the Vice President for Research and for federal, state, educational, and other funding/regulatory agencies. As part of a research study, the University of New Mexico is offering a free interview for drinkers who would like to know how alcohol might be affecting their lives. If you are concerned about your drinking, we will evaluate your alcohol use with tests and questionnaires and talk about your feedback with you. This is not a treatment program. What you do with the information will be up to you. We will also perform noninvasive brain scans to see how you respond to certain kinds of phrases. This study will help us to understand how counseling might affect brain function. All of your information will be strictly confidential. You will be compensated for your time and inconvenience.
