NOAH'S FLOOD

First Presbyterian Church 04-19-2015 An hour-long opera featuring Noa and his ark of animals, portrayed by 50 children from several Albuquerque-area musical groups. Noah and his ark of animals, portrayed by fifty children from several Albuquerque area musical groups, will perform Benjamin Britten’s “Noye’s Fludde” (Noah”s Flood) at First Presbyterian Church, April 19 at 5:30 p.m. The public, especially families, are invited to this hour-long opera. An orchestra of young instrumentalists and professional players will accompany the opera. The young instrumentalists hail from Albuquerque Youth Symphony, as well as numerous school programs citywide. The animal chorus is a combination of the First Presbyterian Choristers, Second Presbyterian Children’s Choir, the Albuquerque Boy Choir, UNM Children’s Choral Program, and Albuquerque Youth Symphony Chorus. Edmund Connolly, baritone sings Noah and Sarah Weiler, mezzo-soprano portrays Mrs. Noah. Lee Rickard acts the “Voice of God”. James Yeager is music director. Charles Carrillo designed the exquisite set and costumes which the Santa Fe Opera has loaned.
