Slam Semifinals

The ABQ Slams semifinals are tonight at Market Café (Coors and Alameda) at 8 p.m. hosted by Jessica Lopez and Danny Solis. The winners will face-off in the finals at the National Hispanic Cultural Center next weekend for a spot on the Albuquerque Slam team. There's a $5 suggested donation at the door.

Action Movie Casting

“Project Angel” (ahem— T4) is holding an open casting call for extras on Saturday, April 12, at San Felipe Casio Hollywood from noon to 4 p.m. The production is especially looking for military-like persons and amputees in addition to all types of New Mexicans.

SWOP Movie Night

SouthWest Organizing Project hosts a viewing at the Guild Cinema on Tuesday, April 15, of the documentary Arlington West, the tale of soldiers in route to and returning from the war in Iraq. The fundraising event is $10 for adults and $7 for youth—and you get a free bag of Walker’s popcorn!
