Satire or Just Plain Offensive?

The newest edition of The New Yorker depicts Barack Obama in a turban, fist-bumping his wife, who's carrying a gun on her back. Is this delicious satire or patently offensive?

No one with a pulse reads that shit and for those that do they're smart enough to realize why it's "funny?"- simonm

When the A.P. writes a story about it, the cover gets seen by more than just the faux-liberal yuppies who read The New Yorker.- democrat

I absolutely see why Obama is offended by this, and I probably would be too, it is really tasteless.... BUT this is the New Yorker, and everyone knows, no one at the New Yorker actually has an anus, therefore anything they do is just constipated bull shit. I also agree that if the A.P. didn't write a giant story about it, no one would have noticed, so I think Obama should be equally pissed at them.- greenley

takes offense to it is being offended by the right wingers who said all the crap in the first place, that's the picture THEY painted, and yes, they're offensive assholes. Hopefully this makes light of how ridiculous the shit they say is.- FatAndSassy

that for a candidate who's had to create an entire website devoted to ending vicious rumors about him, this is very worrisome. I read somewhere that one in ten registered voters believes Obama is a "secret Muslim." Some of them are probably going to get the wrong idea from the cover.
