Military Religious Freedom Foundation has 18 Active Cases at Fort Hood

In reaction to the Fort Hood shootings, the founder of Albuquerque-based Military Religious Freedom Foundation is calling on President Obama to condemn harassment of Islamic military personnel.

Mikey Weinstein says the president must issue a zero-tolerance policy for any military man or woman "inflicting harassments, retribution or reprisal against an Islamic member of the U.S. military."

The foundation has 18 active cases at Fort Hood “involving soldiers who allege they have been subjected to nonstop fundamentalist Christian proselytization,” according to MRFF. Weinstein calls it one of the worst hotspots among the 1,000 U.S. installations around the world.

Weinstein is himself a military man who graduated from the Air Force Academy. He’s a Republican and was White House counsel during the Reagan administration. The Alibi reported last week on the foundation’s 2010 nomination for a Nobel Peace Prize.

  • New Low for Anti-Christian Activist Weinstein  [ Mon Nov 9 2009 9:41 AM ]

The hateful anti-Christian screed from MRFF just never stops, but this is a new nadir. Blaming Christians for their own deaths at the hands of a rabid fundamentalist Muslim terrorist (perhaps some redundancy there) just takes away any credibility Weinstein & Co. ever had for objectivity in their crusade against American values. It is a stretch to say that Weinstein is a "military man." Our research shows he stayed in service just long enough to meet his obligations for undergraduate and legal study.

I suppose next he'll blame Jews for burning their own synagogues.

  • Um. What?  [ Mon Nov 9 2009 11:24 AM ]
Anti-Christian activist? That's pretty arrogant, to assume that someone advocating for the separation of church and state is specifically anti-Christian. It also doesn't seem like anyone is blaming any of the victims for their own deaths, or even blaming the harassment the shooter may have endured. It simply seems like an opportunity to not only denounce the horrendous actions of one man, but to perhaps take a moment to examine prejudices, such as when someone says something like, oh, "rabid fundamentalist Muslim terrorist (perhaps some redundancy there)."

Thanks for spreading more hate in the name of christianity, because we all know that's what christianity's all about, not compassion for your fellow man like Weinstein is calling for.

Are you the one who's driving the truth truck?

Nope; but thanks for the link. You bring up an excellent point. If you're a hater like Weinstein, then you have to believe the liberal creed. You want to kill the unborn, you hate America, you hate the military, you hate Christianity and its believers, you have too much money and not enough to do. In poor Weinstein's case, he fled the military before ever seeing a glimpse of harm's way, and if you check you'll find that at least one of his kids was dismissed rather early. Weinstein, who is a secular Jew, seized upon MRFF as a way to get back at Christians for any wrongs he (and his children) suffered in his miserable life. Weinstein and compassion? Please. He uses "Jesus Christ" as a curse word. Can you imagine the outcry if he shouted out something more Islamic in an insulting manner? I didn't think so.

  • "Jesus christ" exclamation is not cursing  [ Sat Nov 28 2009 11:02 PM ]

Exclaiming "Oh God!" or "Jesus Christ!" to express exasperation might violate your interpretation of the ten commandments, but it is not cursing any more than saying "wow" is. It's a (usually mock) prayer implying that the other person has just said something so ridiculous that it merits divine intervention. I have never heard of Mikey Weinstein or anybody else say something like "you stupid Jesus Christ" as a curse.

The rest of MRFFWatch's trolling has convinced me by example just how easily religioius intolerance can masquerade as military bravado. The American military exists to defend our freedoms. People who attempt to undermine our freedoms are working against this purpose.
