At first glance, painter Melissa Morgan's Enter Anthropocene embraces an ethereal, flower-childlike bond between humans and nature. But that's where Cassidy Watt—owner of Metallo Gallery (2863 Hwy. 14, Madrid)—says Morgan shows her sleight of hand for subtle metaphor. "There is a celebration in the paintings because they're very beautiful and pretty," says Watt, "but I think there's also a warning there."

Art stuff happening this weekend

Artist Camilla S. Haneberg will be showing are at High Desert Yoga's new Healing Arts Center (4610 Copper NE). She uses acrylics to paint nature based works which are somewhat impressionist. The opening is at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10.
UNM students will be showing hand pulled prints at the Fine Arts Building, Room 142, west of Popejoy Hall, Friday, Dec. 10 and Saturday, Dec. 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Jewelry maker Casey Duncan will be showing her work at the Metallo Gallery, 2863 State Highway 14, in Madrid, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11. He will be unveiling his new crown, which is composed of Sterling silver, gold, and about 20 precious stones.
