Donald "Duck" Dunn was a member of the Stax Studios house band, The Mar-Keys. He went on to become the second bassist in organ player Booker T's band, The MGs. According to longtime band mate Steve Cropper, Dunn died in his sleep, while on tour, in Tokyo. He was 70. Dunn may be best remembered by pop culture as the bass player in The Blues Brothers' band. The man was foremost a studio musician however, and can be heard on records by Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Rufus Thomas, Peter Frampton, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Neil Young.... The list is extensive.

One of the stranger things to come out on Stax Records was an instrumental version of The Beatles' Abbey Road by Booker T and The MGs called Mclemore Ave. The Stax recording studios were on McLemore Ave (pronounced "mac-lemore.")
