Burque knows BoB ballots count

And you do too, VOTE NOW!

By Geoffrey Plant [ Mon Mar 17 2014 4:11 PM ]

Spring is in the air. Everything is coming up roses. Time for a new favorite ... bike path .... Nah, maybe it's just time to punch the mayor of 'Burque in the nose. Hopefully while accompanied by the chick with 'Burque's best tattoo. After ogling Duke City's best bar staff. Or the city's best mural. Whoever you vote for will forgive you. Or laud you. Since you already left the best casino, y'all take note when you bring your car to your fave mechanic and gab about Albuquerque's best TV personality. Don't misinterpret that, we're talking about television. You open-minded, best adult-shopping, filthy-minded folk.

Albuqurque residents want to express their opinion. This is the time. This is the place. Weekly Alibi's Best of Burque is registering your thoughts. Your opinions. Your needlessly biased self-esteem and ego-centric positions on the what-not and the that thing-a-ma-jig that is SO 'Burque. Mmm, sexy.... What is the best vintage apparel store?

Rooster Roundabout: This week’s music highlights

By Mark Lopez [ Fri Aug 30 2013 12:55 PM ]

Do you remember where you were when you first heard Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP? I remember trying to be cool with my older brother and his friends, jamming out to it at someone's house … or was that in a dream? Regardless the sequel is headed our way in the form of MMLP2, which comes out Nov. 5. But Eminem (who's blonde again) shared the track, “Berzerk,” which you can hear below:

Alibi Midnight Movie Madness Presents: Evil Dead II

By Devin D. O’Leary [ Fri May 24 2013 5:11 PM ]

The recent remake of Evil Dead was gory as hell, but largely pointless. After all, filmmaker Sam Raimi already remade Evil Dead. It was called Evil Dead II, and it was awesome. Join Alibi at Guild Cinema this Friday and Saturday night at 10:15 and midnight for a 35mm screening of the one, the only, the original Evil Dead II: Dead By Dawn. Tickets are $6 students and $8 general. There will be doorprizes from Stranger Factory and a special, limited-edition poster release courtesy of local artists Soto and Jon Sanchez. Posters will be for sale in the theater lobby, and we’ll be giving one away each screening. Be there or be dead.

Fourth of July Alibi Distribution

You can't ride public transportation, but you may read this NuCity Publication

By Geoffrey Plant [ Tue Jul 3 2012 11:16 AM ]

In order to give New Mexicans enough free time to properly celebrate America's independence from Britain by drinking, shooting guns, and lighting things on fire, all government institutions and many businesses are closed on Wednesday July Fourth. The offices of Weekly Alibi are closed... except the Circulation Department. We don't take holidays.

While the majority of this week's distribution will take place on Thursday the Fifth, readers will be able to find fresh, crisp copies of the latest Weekly Alibi at select locations. Here is a selection of places to go tomorrow when you absolutely must have i.27 of the Alibi, featuring interviews with former New Mexico Governor and current third-party presidential candidate Gary Johnson:
