The Daily Word in restaurant wages, watered down beer and hidden treasure

There's treasure in New Mexico! Somewhere! Go get it!

The City has decided that yeah, businesses DO have to follow the new minimum wage law after all. Or at least that one malt shop does. Since everybody made a fuss over it.

Come give your input on making Central Avenue between 1st and Girard a more pedestrian friendly area. Maybe someday they'll get around to the section between San Mateo and Tramway. But probably not.

Amazing video of a pig rescuing a goat was faked by an advertising team, trained animals and divers. Which is also kind of amazing.

Belgian owned brewery Anheuser-Busch (makers of Budweiser and Michelob) is accused of watering down their beer. They deny it, suggest that maybe their products are just terrible.

The Tea Party has gone all tanniny.

    And goodbye, Ratzo!

Although we can't tell you which roads are guaranteed to bring you home safe on a Friday night, we can tell you which to avoid. Data gathered by UNM’s Division of Government Research between 2007 and 2009 ranks the odd little intersection where Central and Zuni merge (they’re parallel elsewhere) as No. 1 in percentage of accidents involving alcohol, with 11.8 percent of the 34 crashes caused by intoxication. To see how your intersection ranks, go to bit.ly/abqcarcrashes. (EK)

Route 66 Malt Shop Gets Into the Rhythm

Dance studio and diner combo comes out swinging

In 1927, Lindberg crossed the Atlantic and the world began dancing the Lindy. Energetic devotees swing on—and Rachel Green makes a career of the obsession. Green and I are chatting over lunch at the Route 66 Malt Shop, one door down from her dance space. I’m sipping a chocolate egg cream while Green enjoys a toasty crab cake sandwich.
