Daniel Brigman spins the sonic wheel
Daniel Brigman is the curator of DIY venue Moldspores, founder of micro-label Featherspines and an experimental musician. He performs solo as Father of the Flood and plays bass in Contortionist. Hear his noise live on Friday evening. Since Brigman doesn’t own an MP3 player, he devised an innovative method of divining his random tracks. Read all about it in this week’s Song Roulette.

with Kevin Greenspon, Hedia and Eric Ortega

Rock and Roll Fantasy
This typeface is not absurdly tough, yet its pointiness and near-illegibility lends a special aura of mystery that suggests magic, action and adventure. Find those things on Friday, Aug. 10, at the Launchpad (618 Central SW). Tenderizor, Glitter Dick, Contortionist and Drought conjure rainbows in the dark (and the like) beginning at 9:30 p.m. Admission is 21-and-over and $5. (JCC)
If you like your gay on the Rob Halford end of the sonic spectrum, Leeches of Lore, Boar Worship, Fando and Contortionist are here to fill the void of distortion, aggression and medieval/occult imagery. Note that this show isn’t an official part of Pride. It just happens concurrently Downtown at Launchpad (618 Central SW) on Saturday, June 30, at 9:30 p.m. Admission is $5. (JCC)
