Who’s playing at Sister this week?
Like, especially, who’s playing Friday and Saturday?
By Carl Petersen [ Wed May 29 2013 1:46 PM ]
Well, you can’t find out from their ad in the Alibi this week because we (I) screwed up and lost the ad for Sister in the shuffle. But most notably at Sister, this week:
Friday, May 31, catch an ear-crunching, face-melting stoner-rock assault from Albuquerque’s super-heavy SuperGiant, teaming up with rockabilly favorite Cowboys and Indian. The show starts at 10 p.m. and tickets are $5.
The following night, Saturday June 1, Sister invites you to pull out your fancy dance moves, drink some delicious Beat Sauce and spend an evening wiggling and jiggling to the spinning of DJ Nicolatron, Brendangerous, Dirt Girl, Ben Bitten and a special visual dessert from Benji Geary.
I heard all of your friends are going to both shows.

Webgame Wednesday: Rhythm Heroes
By Devin D. O’Leary [ Wed May 9 2012 2:13 PM ]
You should probably be watching more "Adventure Time" on Cartoon Network. Trust me, it's good for you. If you're already a fan, how about checking out the new Adventure Time Game, Rhythm Heroes? It is, as the title suggests, a rhythm game. Sing along to the beat DJ Party Pat is laying out so you can advance to later levels. Before long, you'll be performing alongside Marceline the Vampire Queen and beating the Ice King at his own game. Mathematical!

Dancing, comedy and free wine!
By Summer Olsson [ Wed May 11 2011 3:00 PM ]
The Q-Bar, inside Hotel Albuquerque, is giving you something to do on Wednesdays. Today kicks off the first of a weekly thang. The evening starts with a live DJ playing the greatest hits of the last 50 years, (that sounds pretty general, but think about it. You could hear The Beatles AND MC Hammer. Sweet.) Next, it’s Q Comedy, a comedy showcase featuring some of Albuquerque’s finest comedians, hosted by Goldie Garcia. Then they’ll turn the music back up for more dancing. The best part is, tonight there will be free tapas and wine from 6-7 p.m.
