Guns is an old-salt act with nearly 30 years of rock action under its studded belt. Aesthetically, the group is part glam and part punk—black hair, aviators, tattoos and motorcycle jackets laden with skull and pistol imagery have long lent an air of playful toughness. Aurally, the group is quintessential hair metal—rock and roll songs that deal with girls and hell-raising punctuated by killer shredding.

View/Add Comments [ 4 ] Hanoi Rocks Tuesday “Lightning Bar Blues” by Hanoi Rocks I always wrote off Hanoi Rocks as another lame, fake-o-tron ‘80s hair band ... until last night, when I was convinced otherwise. Much of the Finnish four piece’s early music, especially the song posted here, sounds like ‘70s power pop and glampunk. Sadly, at some point the dudes did fall victim to the generic ‘80s glam metal formula, but prior to that it’s pretty bitchin.’ |
