Try Something Boo This Halloween
Instead of walking from house to house with the kids dodging cars, other kids and grownups this Halloween, why not check out the new "BOO!-LLOON MANIA" celebration at The Anderson-Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum this year?
Please join us Friday, October 28 from 3-9pm for this FREE community, all-ages event featuring:
A Jack-o'-Lantern Glow and special Balloon Glow on the Balloon Museum lawn (weather permitting).
Your own carved pumpkin or decorated "BOO!-luminaria." Bring them from home or make them at the museum. Glow sticks will be provided to all participants in the glow activities. Please, no candles.
Pumpkin carving and luminaria decorating for all ages.
All-ages costume contest for humans and pets.
Crafts, Halloween treats and more.
In addition, the evening includes free admission to visit all the fascinating exhibitions, displays and the exciting Tim Anderson 4-D Theater, where you not only see and hear an action-oriented animated aerobatic film on a giant screen but also feel the sensations that are being experienced by those onscreen.
There also will be booths staffed by safety, service and health experts from the Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails, Boy Scouts Great Southwest Council, the Albuquerque Public Library, Boys and Girls Club of Central New Mexico, City of Albuquerque Fire Department and the Mind Research Network.
In addition, donations of canned and non-perishable food items will be collected for the Roadrunner Food Bank and donations of school supplies will be welcomed by the Boys and Girls Club of Central New Mexico.
For those so inclined, a special themed "Paint Night" will be available for those 18 years and older. Under the direction of a professional artist, participants will create their own version of a themed painting on display, taking home their unique interpretation.
All materials are provided for painting, as well as free popcorn. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes and prizes will be awarded for the best ones. A cash bar will be available for those 21 years and over who have a valid ID. Tickets are only $25 per "artist." After creating your masterpiece, stay to enjoy the "BOO!-lloon Glow" on the museum lawn (weather permitting).
