Nuevo Mexicano transplant Hector Peña turns everyday detritus—think cigar boxes, bullets, bolts, license plates, rare coins and so on—into folk art instruments that charm and shred. Geoffrey Plant spent some time with Peña and shares a glimpse into the Burqueño maker's method and motivation in Resonating at a Higher Frequency.
