Film Fête in Fe

Our neighbor to the north hopes to lure film lovers to the City Different for the 13th annual Santa Fe Film Festival. The viewing party unfolds Dec. 6 through 9 at a number of venues including The Screen, the Center for Contemporary Arts, The Lensic Performing Arts Center and the New Mexico History Museum.

    Balloon Fiesta 2010 Schedule

    Every autumn we are greeted with three things here in the Land of Enchantment—the aroma of roasting green chile, the deep-fried spectacle of the State Fair and the early morning sky filled with breathtaking globes of color, launched from the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. From Oct. 2 through 10, hundreds of hot-air balloons will take flight over the Duke City at the world's largest ballooning festival. This schedule will keep you as occupied and cheerful as the skies above Albuquerque.

    The New Mexico Jazz Festival

    Bassist Matt Brewer comes home to open the fourth annual festival

    A prophet may have no honor in his own country, but a bassist is a different story. Matt Brewer, who spent his formative years here but now resides in New York City, has the honor of opening the Albuquerque end of the 2009 New Mexico Jazz Festival at the Outpost Performance Space, and he’s bringing players who are helping to shape a new generation of jazz.
