One of the most innovative artists in underground hip-hop, Del the Funky Homosapien first gained his reputation for good taste and quality music as founder of the Oakland, Calif.-based Hieroglyphics collective. That status was cemented in 2000 with the release of Deltron 3030—a tight sci-fi concept album based in the future—and later, in the creation of multigenre supergroup Gorillaz. His funkiness performs in Albuquerque at the Sunshine Theater on Tuesday, Sept. 13. The all-ages show begins at 8 p.m. Admission is $10.
