Words Afire! theater fest kicks off tonight at UNM’s Theatre X

Now in its 12th year, UNM’s Words Afire! presents a chance to see finished and in-progress works by burgeoning playwrights. Opening up the fest tonight at 7:30 is Law Chavez’ Señora de la Pinta, a modern-day Oedipus tale involving feuding New Mexican ex-cons. Click the above link for more info.

Words Afire! presents a rare opportunity. Audiences not only glimpse budding works from the next generation of playwrights but, in a way, also have an impact on their evolution. The festival kicks off this weekend at UNM’s Theatre X.
