Screen Name: autumnsg
Real Name: Autumn Garrison
Age: 29, Taurus
Winning Earwig mix: Hi ... Story
Hear it at: alibi.com/earwig
What do you do in your free time?
Listen to music constantly and make mixes. Drink wine, play with my dogs, watch movies and the world news
What are you reading?
The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck and Filter magazine.
What was the first concert you went to?
No Doubt with Bush.
How did you cull together your hip, accessible mix?
This playlist is an eclectic hodgepodge of indie pop from 2008. Listening to music and making mixes is my favorite pastime. I made Hi ... Story for this contest because I love these bands and I know a lot of people haven't heard of them, and they’re definitely worth a listen.
When you go out, what local bands are you looking to see?
DJ Limn is impressive. He spins every Friday at Nob Hill Bar & Grill. I do like a few local bands: of god and science and The Cherry Tempo have put on some good shows.
Do you ever listen to the radio?
Corporate radio skews so many people’s perceptions of what good music is, and I think true music lovers seek it out.
Your mix is very danceable. What's a song you're embarrassed to admit you like to cut a rug to?
“Poison” by Bell Biv DeVoe. Never trust a big butt and smile.
Do you play any instruments?
I am not a musician by any stretch. However, I am a great listener!
Do you have any favorites you want to win at the Oscars this year?
Don't believe the hype! I'm not one for award shows.
As a winner of the Alibi's Earwig playlist competition, Autumn wins $10 in her choice of goodies at Charley's 33s and CDs. Visit alibi.com/earwig to hear her mix or make your own.
