You can get your "canvas" covered in any number of gourmet toppings, from ricotta cheese to roasted red potatoes. Or get your pie festooned in pepperoni. It’s great any way you slice it. (Alibi Staff, August 11, 2010)

An upstart contender in the crowded UNM coffee-shop scene, this small, well-appointed space is great for cramming before finals or scarfing down a quick breakfast before school or a salad and a sandwich for lunch. So far, the main drawback seems to be that its location—wedged between a laundromat and a piñata store—is just about impossible to find. Fortunately, a new sign helps solve that problem. Not your ordinary cafe, this quaint little joint tends to attract acclectic folks who want to thumb through the extensive book collection in the front of the store or lounge with a laptop in the back. The staff are well-versed in coffee bean language, offering smooth cold brews, steamy espresso and the freshest house brew in town. The cafe also serves breakfast until 11am every morning so for all you early birds, make sure to try the smothered breakfast burrito.

Fans Of Film Cafe has expanded it's menu to include over a dozen vegan options, such as vegan fish and chicken tacos, burritos and enchiladas smothered in an awesome vegan gluten free green or red chile sauce. The cafe has become very diverse in creating it's own coffee company "V Roast Coffees at vroast.com It's the first all organic air roaster in Albuquerque "taste the coffee not the roaster" We've also started supplying other stores like Co-Op in Nobhill with our in-house cold brew coffee in 12oz bottles. "As well as delivering cold brew coffee by the keg and served on tap at Fans Of Film Cafe, Lemonata on Silver and Daily Grind on Cutler.

Don’t let the tacky Bud Light signs fool you (or the fact that the restaurant’s name is spelled three different ways on them). This cozy little cafe serves up some great and authentic Persian food. The titular kabobs are as good as you could hope for—especially the bone-in lamb—and the staff is friendly and eager to guide you to the best parts of the menu. Watch out for the salted yogurt drink doogh, though—Westerners might not be prepared for its pungency. (Alibi Staff, February 20, 2014)

This University area restaurant takes advantage of whatever natural law it is that makes college students and ramen noodles a perfect culinary pairing. The ramen bowls come in three basic broths: chicken, veggie and the iconic, milky tonkatsu, made from boiled pork bones. It’s delicious, bolstering stuff and offered at a great price. Also, check out the Japanese microbrews!
