Get your late-night pizza fix and a pint on Downtown’s favorite patio. It makes a perfect vantage point for people-watching on the weekends. The back room is stocked with vintage ’80s tabletop arcade games, several beers on tap, flat-screen TVs and a discreet outdoor patio. Just wander back through the parking lot to the north of the existing NYPD, or spread out in the expanded front room. (Alibi Staff, August 11, 2010)

Winners of Best Dish Covered in Gravy, Best Chicken-Fried Steak, Best Milkshake/Malt, Best Diner and Best American in recent polls. Step back in time for old-fashioned diner food and atmosphere with a New Mexican twist (incarnate in the hot-and-spicy Frito pie). The 66 Diner dishes up yummy burgers and fries, breakfast plates, and daily specials like chicken pot pie with cream gravy or crispy-fried po’ boys. The real stars in this place, though, are the awesome frozen desserts. They run the gamut from mammoth banana splits to 99-cent teeny-weeny hot fudge sundaes. The milkshakes come in almost any flavor combination you can think of and are some of the creamiest, most lip-smacking concoctions around. (Alibi Staff, October 13, 2010)

In the front, it's a standard restaurant laid out with a small bar and big window facing the street. Travel a short way through a blacklit hall and enter the kind of divey neighborhood hangout this city needs more of, complete with TVs, a jukebox, blacklight alien posters, a ping pong table, air hockey and arcade games. Though the entire menu is available no matter where you choose to spend your time, you can't go wrong with the twisty-crust pizza. Its foundation is really more braided golden bread than crust, and it's available by the slice or the pie. (Alibi Staff, August 11, 2010)

This sports bar on Coors just north of I-40, has got your UFC fix on TV along with some satisfying bar food options. The rack of basted barbecue ribs are juicy, tender and fatty. A mesquite chicken sandwich, served on a ciabatta bun, is tasty. And the oven-roasted turkey club with poblano pepper and grilled onions is a winner. (Alibi Staff, December 23, 2010)

Archetypal mountain log cabin steakhouse, breakfast joint and bar. (In olden times, they’d be a dry goods store too.) Solid comfort food and gringo-friendly New Mexican cuisine (i.e., not too spicy) with atmosphere to spare. (Alibi Staff, December 23, 2010)
