What you
will
find are pool tables, waitresses who are not dressed like strippers (TDs is across the parking lot if that’s what you’re after—it also airs UFC) and a kitchen staff that takes its job seriously. The Lobo burger is a thing of beauty, with smoked bacon sparring nicely with cheese and green chile. The fries are skin-on, and the legit red chile is medium spiced with the occasional fleck of coriander. Maybe everyone doesn’t know your name, but it’s pleasant and friendly—even to Brock Lesnar fans. (Alibi Staff, December 23, 2010) Add a Review At first glance, The Fox and Hound is your typical sports bar, hip-hop music blasting, TVs blaring, and pretty waitresses bustling. But one glance at the extensive menu is all it takes to clue you in that it is a fine restaurant as well. Unlike the usual fried piece of beer sponge that you get at most sports bars, the menu offers more elegant dishes like blackened mahi-mahi. Exhale has live entertainment, a smokin' dance floor, naughty drinks and jalapeño poppers. Sun: noon-midnight (subject to change) In the front, it's a standard restaurant laid out with a small bar and big window facing the street. Travel a short way through a blacklit hall and enter the kind of divey neighborhood hangout this city needs more of, complete with TVs, a jukebox, a ping-pong table, air hockey and arcade games. Though the entire menu is available no matter where you choose to spend your time, you can't go wrong with the twisty-crust pizza. Caroline the bartender makes the meanest Lemondrops and non-blended Margaritas around. Suck back one of her Bloody Marys, too, which she makes extra spicy with Sriracha rooster sauce. (Alibi Staff, August 11, 2010) Add a Review We still miss Jack’s, but its copper-ceilinged replacement has been around long enough to become an institution itself. The rambly old building has plenty of dark corners to hide in as you make your way through the extensive beer menu, and if the weather’s nice, an inviting patio area to scarf down a brick-oven cooked pizza in the fresh Spring breeze. (1/6/2011) This sports bar on Coors just north of I-40, has got your UFC fix on TV along with some satisfying bar food options. The rack of basted barbecue ribs are juicy, tender and fatty. A mesquite chicken sandwich, served on a ciabatta bun, is tasty. And the oven-roasted turkey club with poblano pepper and grilled onions is a winner. Closed Monday (subject to change) Cuisine: Barbecue/Soul Food Some folks will tell you barbecue is a difficult thing to screw up. Not true. That’s the reason your own barbecue isn't as good as the stuff at Ribs. The portions are large, the grub has a good smoky essence to it and there's plenty to choose from. Not surprisingly, the ribs are ridiculous. Some of the very best barbecue in the area. (Alibi Staff, August 11, 2010) Add a Review Tijeras![]() Ponderosa Eatery & SaloonRestaurant:
