They’re no longer open till late, but Adieux Café is still serving up excellent beer and sandwiches in the heart of Downtown. Most days, they’re open for lunch (with a pint, if you’re so inclined), but on Saturdays dinner’s on the menu from 5pm until the customers stop coming. We recommend that you try the reuben, a colorful and tangy twist on a classic panini. (Alibi Staff, January 7, 2014)

Gravy

725 Central Ave NE (Downtown)
Albuquerque NM 87102
242-4299
Cuisine: American, Diner

4.55 rating (11 votes)
After two years of preparation, Gravy has finally opened in the old Milton’s building. The place looks great, with a distinctly swank take on the classic diner aesthetic, and the menu follows suit. Multiple varieties of pancakes are offered for breakfast, along with huevos rancheros and an eggy pot pie. Dinner is comfort food-oriented—think meatloaf, fried chicken and chicken-fried steak—and there’s plenty of beer (locally brewed and otherwise) on tap with which to wash it down. Try the fried green tomatoes! (Alibi Staff, December 17, 2014)

Get your late-night pizza fix and a pint on Downtown’s favorite patio. It makes a perfect vantage point for people-watching until 2:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday. (Alibi Staff, August 11, 2010)

Marble Brewery

111 Marble NW (Downtown)

Mon-Sat 1pm-12pm Sun 1pm-10:30pm (hours can change without notice)
Meals Served: DinnerOpen Late

3.45 rating (100 votes)
Knock back a Wildflower Wheat or One Eleven Blonde on Marble's large, airy patio, where there’s live music every Saturday night with no cover charge. A small menu of panini sandwiches keeps hunger at bay, but you’re here for the beer—several varieties (always with a few seasonals) are brewed fresh in big vats right on site. Or pick up a growler, six-pack or keg to take home. In the relatively short time it's been open, Marble's taken over the town, and you'll find a variety of their brews at the respectable bars in town. (Alibi Staff, August 11, 2010)

Q Burger

301 Central Ave NW (Downtown)
Albuquerque NM 87102
505-224-2747
www.qburgerabq.com/Q_burger...

5 rating (3 votes)
This restaurant has already gone through one name (it used to be called BRGR,) but its mission remains the same: to provide gourmet, locally sourced hamburgers to Albuquerque’s Downtown. In addition to your typical beef burger, Q also offers up some exotic meat options (yak and kangaroo are both in the special rotation), a fine selection of salads, and a huge list of local beers to wash down your meal. 4.34 rating (126 votes)
The Barley Room is a watering hole in the far Northeast Heights that fills patrons up with live music, lots of libations and a surprisingly ample menu. Snack on bar-friendly fried things (say yes to the sweet potato fries!), or have a proper meal with burgers, salads, pasta, New Mexican dishes and a few grilled meat and fish entrées. There’s a palpable sports bar feel to the place, but a diverse clientele keeps this bar/grill comfortable for just about everyone. The kitchen stays open until midnight every night; go ahead and linger. (Alibi Staff, August 11, 2010)

3.61 rating (42 votes)
Il Vicino’s thin-crusted, gourmet-topped pizzas are perennial favorites among Alibi readers, but the big salads are equally popular. Order at the register and a server brings the food to your table, making weekday lunches speedy. The open kitchen gives you something to stare at while you wait. Stop in for a quick lunch or a late afternoon microbrew at one of the patio tables. (Alibi Staff, August 11, 2010)

Meals Served: LunchDinner
Nearby Theater: Movies 8 (See Film Times)
Cuisine: Italian

3.9 rating (35 votes)
Trombino's Bistro Italiano has been an institution of family-style Italian dining in the Heights for almost 30 years. It houses an impressively fat menu that includes a full bar, espresso drinks and an ample wine list. The service is quicker than a Hollywood marriage, and the waitstaff seems particularly knowledgeable about the food and wines. Gravitate to the more rustic Italian fare—lemon-basil chicken salad, grilled homemade Italian sausage or meatballs, prosciutto-wrapped asparagus and manicotti are amply portioned and tasty. (Alibi Staff, August 11, 2010)

Il Vicino’s taproom has reopened with a vengeance at its new location. There is now plenty of room (both to sit and park), and you can chow on a sandwich or a big hot pretzel while you sip your Wet Mountain IPA. (Alibi Staff, April 14, 2011)

Chama River has a great beer selection, including a bevy of their own brews. The food is approachable, often locally sourced and delicious American stuff that, coincidentally, goes pretty damn well with beer. Say yes to yeast. (Alibi Staff, August 11, 2010)

4.07 rating (102 votes)
This brewery has quite a following, both for the beer and as a “New Mexican soul food” gastropub. The menu offers specialties of Southern-fried po’boys and the delicious marriage of chicken and waffles. It’s just the place to take your corn-bread-and-Frito-pie-craving friends while still getting your craft beer fix. And there’s live music too. Nexus has bands booked several nights a week. Voted Best Comfort Food for 2014. (Alibi Staff, July 12, 2011)

Gecko’s tapas won our readers’ hearts in BoBR 2014, but it isn’t just the tapas that draw in a familiar and friendly crowd. On Mondays the burgers are all $5 each and come with fries or salad. Watch some sports, eat a burger and enjoy a seasonal ale. (Alibi Staff, August 11, 2010)

2.56 rating (104 votes)
Besides the late-night menus and 20-odd house-brewed beers, Kelly's has an enormous, dog-friendly patio that somehow manages to be packed to the elbows, lively and laid-back all at the same time. The food is decidedly geared toward the bar crowd, with shades of cow, ostrich, turkey, buffalo or veggie on the burger menu. Get one with a side of sweet potato fries. (Alibi Staff, August 11, 2010)

If you’re into meat and motors, you should check this place out. The back half of the building is reserved for customizing motorcycles, while the front half is a rollicking restaurant with a great beer selection. The menu revels in heavier fare like burgers and fried chicken. (Alibi Staff, December 6, 2012)

4.3 rating (23 votes)
After a long winter of teasing us via its Facebook page, Farm & Table finally opened on Fourth Street between Paseo and Alameda. The setting is gorgeous, inside and out (the spacious courtyard overlooks 10 acres of farm field). The local and organic ingredients are meticulously sourced, and the food is reasonably priced for what you get. As mind-expanding as the pork pork belly is, Chef Ravey’s seafood is on another level entirely, as one might expect from a talented Hawaiian chef. (Alibi Staff, May 3, 2012)

Vegetarians will want to skip this one. The Steer features an array of very meaty dishes, from a locally raised beef hamburger to fried pork belly niblets dipped in powdered sugar. Oh, there’s a meatless salad or two available, but choosing one in lieu of the beef is tantamount to eating one of the fake burgers at Thai Vegan: pointless and disappointing. So sharpen those canine teeth and dispel any preconceptions you may have about eating light before you head up here. (Alibi Staff, March 12, 2014)
