It’s an urban café on a quiet street corner, with a small menu of simple yet well-crafted dishes and a pledge to use local, seasonal and organic ingredients whenever possible. But unlike in Europe, the red and green chile won’t disappoint. Now serving brunch on Saturdays! (Alibi Staff, November 17, 2011) Add a Review ![]() Pasion Latin FusionMon-Fri: 11am-2:30pm

With co-owners Monica (Elvis’ wife) and Orlando (his brother), Pasión Latin Fusion serves up dishes found throughout Latin America with Elvis’ own creative flair. Monica runs the front of the house and her gracious, lively style makes you feel right at home. To eat, there are fish tacos crusted in banana, garnished with pickled onions, avocado and sauce. The succulent carnitas tacos and George’s pescado à la Veracruzana are spectacular. The “croque señorita” is Elvis’ version of a croque-madame—a seared pork chop, fried egg and Swiss cheese served over tacu tacu (Peruvian rice and beans, similar to Cuba's moros y cristianos) with a huacatay (Peruvian mint) cream sauce. The barrel-shaped steakhouse has been a standby for 30 years thanks to its mile-long complimentary salad and soup bar, aged steaks (at a place like this, prime rib is king), and big dance floor that’s always packed on the weekends. Well, at Scarpa’s, anyway. The chicken Caesar pizza is genius, with white cream sauce and a salad right on top of the pie. And if the pizzas don’t get you going, there’s homemade pasta and yummy minestrone. Perhaps the best thing on the menu is the torta dessert—a mountain of puff pastry, baked apples and cinnamon ice cream. Dive in with a demitasse of fresh espresso. It’s a hotbed of cultural diversity including Vietnamese pho, Korean noodles, Japanese udon, and Malay and Chinese stir-fry. StreetFood Asia's menu offers a dizzying array of sauces, toppings, garnishes, meats, seafood, and vegetables in dinner portions or small plates in the heart of Nob Hill. Exotic bar drinks and an long list of excellent sakes adds sparkle to your meal. Taste a little bit of each so you can pick out your favorite before taking home a pound of chocolatey bliss and a dozen buttermilk, raised or cake donuts. There are cinnamon rolls on the weekend, too. (Alibi Staff, August 11, 2010) View/Add Reviews [ 1 ] Back after the fire in a new location! Sometimes we in New Mexico ignore Mexican food because we get enough enchiladas and salsa at restaurants that serve local cuisine. But when you crave true Mexican food like mole and fish tacos, you’ll need to head to someplace like El Norteño. Outside it sure looks like Albuquerque, but inside it tastes just like Mexico. (Alibi Staff, August 11, 2010) View/Add Reviews [ 3 ] The service here is warm and the food is good, especially if you go the all-you-can-eat route. We’re pleased with the freshness of the fish (especially the silky-smooth mackerel) and the generous size of the rolls. It’s not deep-dish, but the puffed up, buttery crust will warm Midwestern hearts, as will The Fire Eater pie—a monument to capsaicin, it scathes taste buds with pepperoni, jalapeños, green chile and hot giardiniera relish. The Italian beef sandwiches are tasty Chicago touches, with seasoned, thinly sliced beef and au jus. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll order an extra side of the “gravy.” Open until 11 p.m. on weeknights, midnight on weekends.
