Our local casa de carbohydrates will fill you up and still leave you with some change in your pocket. Have a hot cup of Red Rock coffee and choose from a staggeringly long list of bagels like plain, blueberry, strawberry, green chile cheese, sun-dried tomato, spinach pesto, cranberry walnut or double chocolate chip. The schmears are homemade, from sweet honey-cinnamon to savory smoked whitefish. Bagels may not be the food of the gods, but they are definitely our holey little friends. We love this strange little place with aggressively retro décor, like super ’70s wood paneling. Cool. Plus, they serve New York deli stuff like bagels with lox and cream cheese, and a club with dill Havarti on rye bread. Our favorite option is the salad trio—you get to pick from Caesar, Greek, apple Waldorf, pasta, potato, fruit, tuna, chicken or egg salads, and it comes with a roll.
