Il Vicino’s thin-crusted, gourmet-topped pizzas are perennial favorites among Alibi readers, but the big salads are equally popular. Order at the register and a server brings the food to your table, making weekday lunches speedy. The open kitchen gives you something to stare at while you wait. I often forget about Il Vicino as a dining option in the Heights, [ Sat Oct 17 2009 8:44 PM ]

but I shouldn't. It really is an excellent restaurant with great food, great service, great atmosphere and great micro-brewed beer. Tonight I had the penne pasta alfredo with sausage and pint of porter. It was outstanding, and the prices are so reasonable I can't imagine why I don't go there more often. I believe I'll start going there more often.
