Besides the late-night menus (the kitchen stays open until 11 p.m., but food isn’t the strength here) and 20-odd house-brewed beers (the Best Beer Selection, according to 2007’s BoB Restaurants poll), Kelly's has an enormous, dog-friendly patio that somehow manages to be packed to the elbows, lively and laid-back all at the same time. Snag a spot by the rails for the best people-watching in Nob Hill. Get the sweet potato fries. (Alibi Staff, August 11, 2010)

is having to wait way too long for service. Other than that, the food has always been good to me. I like the sweet potato fries :)

Terrible food. Even worse beer. And even worse service. I can't express how overrated and terrible kellys byob is.

I've given this place three chances. First time the servers/hostess completely ignored my girlfriend and I. We left after we stood in front for about 5 minutes. My friend and I were actually seated the 2nd time. However, our server was rude and the food was nothing special (I got the ostrich burger w/sweet potatoe fries). The third time I went I decided to ignore the restaurant. I asked if they sold growlers (take-home jug of beer) and the hostess got all offended and told me this wasn't a liquor store. I've given up on Kelly's and their stuck-up staff and crap food. I couldn't give a damn about their beer. There are plenty of local brew pubs in burque that do it right. T-mountain, Il Vic, among others.
