With its multitude of knickknacks crowding every inch of available space and a location that feels out-of-the-way and anonymous, this the sort of first date place where quirky romance blooms. And the food is good and cheap. The french fries and tortilla chips are hand-cut and freshly fried. The green chile cheeseburger stands tall on its braided sesame seed bun. There’s a bar stocked with four from-scratch salsas—and when the salsa runs out for the day, it’s gone. Don’t be put off by the Texas-invoking “Chili” in its name: This place is all about carefully crafted New Mexican comfort. (Alibi Staff, August 11, 2010)
