This boxy strip mall gem is a Colombian restaurant with a solid lineup of Mexican dishes to boot, as well as chicken—crispy, juicy, falling-off-the-bone tender and full of smoky charbroiled flavor. Milky horchata is homemade (and runs out quickly). An appetizer of imported blood sausage comes with pieces of fried plantain that are pounded and fried to resemble flowers. Ropa vieja may translate as “old clothes,” but shredded flank steak in Creole sauce is a culinary masterpiece not to be underestimated—especially when it comes with chile, eggs, cilantro, garlic and plantains.
