Brickyard Pizza
Mon-Sat: 11am-1:30am
Sun: 11:am-11:30pm (hours can change without notice)
Brickyard Pizza is known for fast slices and beers on the cheap. It's the only full bar directly across from UNM, making it the prime watering hole for your post-theater and post- or pre-class needs. It also sometimes has live music and, usually, more televised sports than you can handle. The best thing about Brickyard, though, is that it's also the only noncorporate pizza establishment with late-night delivery (until 2:30am on Friday and Saturday and until 1:30am all other nights) in Burque, which satiates an otherwise unfortunate void.

The Burger Stand
This burger (The Kobe) came topped with pickled red onions, truffle butter, tomato-aioli and local greens. The bun was toasted to a gentle crispiness, and the meat was perfectly juicy (I order burgers medium-rare, don’t at me). The truffle butter helped accentuate some of that bold Kobe flavor, the tomato-aioli was a toasty, spicy kick to give the bites a little bit more pizzazz and interest, with the pickled red onions giving it a hint of sweetness and a little extra crunch

Carraro's Pizza & Joe’s Place
Mon-Fri: 11:30am-2am
Sat: 2pm-2am
Sun: 2pm-midnight (hours can change without notice)
In the front, it's a standard restaurant laid out with a small bar and big window facing the street. Travel a short way through a blacklit hall and enter the kind of divey neighborhood hangout this city needs more of, complete with TVs, a jukebox, a ping-pong table, air hockey and arcade games. Though the entire menu is available no matter where you choose to spend your time, you can't go wrong with the twisty-crust pizza.

A tried-and-true college sandwich shop, Cheba Hut is Albuquerque’s answer to a Which Wich or any number of grab-n-go deli situations. With fresh-baked bread, loaded sammies and plenty of vegetarian options, they definitely know how to cater to their crowd. They’re open ‘til midnight, too, so provide a great solution to those late-night munchies.

Both the building and the menu at The Copper Lounge have gotten an update lately, and both are worth checking out. Best cocktails in the city according to Alibi readers. The building has plenty of dark corners to hide in as you make your way through the extensive beer menu and, if the weather’s nice, an inviting patio area to scarf down a brick-oven cooked pizza in the fresh spring breeze.
Quarters BBQ
You’ll probably have to battle full parking lots and at least a moderate wait, but these delays, annoying as they may be, are one of the best “reviews” a restaurant could hope for. Inside, the dim lighting and rustic décor easily fade away when an enormous pile of tender, saucy meat appears before you. The almost heat-free sauce is tangy and sweet but mellow enough to go down nice and easy without a pucker. Friends of the sausage will love the hot links: well-spiced and smoky dogs with a delightful snap. Not to mention the huge bar takes care of all your beer and cocktail needs.

Salt and Board
Mon-Sat 11am-11pm
Sun 11am-10pm (hours can change without notice)
The charcuterie restaurant and wine bar in the middle of the most college-y block in the city might seem a little out of place, but it’s a breath of fresh air for those of us who have been shopping for a good grown-up neighborhood spot. Salt and Board serves a rotating selection of wines and craft beers, as well as sandwiches, toasts and salads made with fine meats and cheeses. There’s also—of course—the charcuterie board, which includes three cured meats paired with three cheeses that will likely send you into a salty, fatty, blissed out food coma.
