Trains will no longer be blowing their whistles starting tomorrow over the stretch of track between Menaul and Osuna in the North Valley.

From the news release:

“Neighborhoods and businesses along the Rail Runner corridor will now be less impacted by the sound of train horns”, says Lawrence Rael, Executive Director for the Mid-Region Council of Governments.

All trains used to be required to sound a warning as they approached city crossings. But these intersections have been given Quiet Zone status. The news release assures us these quiet crossings will still be safe.
