The Duke City Derby just wasn't seeing the attendance it needed to keep playing at the 7,000-seat Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho.

After the scheduled bout on Saturday, June 20, at the Star Center, the Duke City Derby will be looking for a new place to play in Albuquerque. Derby founder Nan Morningstar says she's confident the season will not be canceled, and that the scheduled games will be made up. She's not sure if the previously scheduled bouts will take place on the day they were originally slated for, but Morningstar says she's sure they'll happen one way or another.
