You Gonna Eat With That?
Happy Arte Hour: It's OK to Play with Your Food
Healthy eating seems to involve washing more dishes, but there is a better way. Bon Aprofit, a Spanish organization promoting better nutrition through creative presentation, has sent two artists here to show us this better way. Come to the Happy Arte Hour tomorrow at the National Hispanic Cultural Center (1701 Fourth Street SW) and learn how to make four dishes out of fresh produce. Eating the meal means eating the dishes, which means there’s no clean up ... and that means there’s no down side! This culinary wizardry goes down in the Domenici Education Center from 5:30 to 7:30pm.
While you’re there, check out the NHCC’s visiting exhibition TAPAS: Spanish Design for Food. As always during the Happy Arte Hour, chips and salsa will flow, and the cash bar will be open. If you plan to go, email firstname.lastname@example.org so you can have a chair and some food to play with. There’s no fee for entry, but your $5 donation helps keep these events happening. Bonus: An all-ages version of this event gets rolling Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10:30am to noon. Visit the NHCC events calendar at nhccnm.org to find out more; email registration is a must.
