Vans Warped Tour hits ABQ
In its 21st year, Vans Warped Tour is the world's longest-running itinerant music festival, and the cornucopia of alternative music and spoken word offers something for almost anyone. The lineup for this international event features both up-and-coming and well-established artists from the rock/punk/pop/rap genres. Some of the participating bands are I Killed the Prom Queen, Neck Deep, Bring Me the Horizon, Attila and Pierce the Veil—as well as the good-times-vibe “hippy-hop” of Mod Sun and the awesomely bizarre party rap of Riff Raff.
There are 10 different stages with the most well-known bands alternating between the two main stages. This year the tour will also feature a comedy tent with 11 comedians performing. A complete rundown of all 93—yes, 93!—artists can be found online at vanswarpedtour.com. There will be food and booze vendors scattered throughout to provide sustenance, and merchandise will be sold from all bands during the event. Warped Tour hits Albuquerque on Wednesday, June 24, at Isleta Amphitheater (5601 University SE) at 11am; tickets can be bought online or at the gate, and prices go for $36 and up.
