Veteran's Resource Day at the Library

In October of 2014, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released a report shining light on the unemployment rates of veterans and found that post-9/11 veterans were struggling with higher rates of unemployment. Unemployment is one of many discouraging themes in veteran’s lives, alongside devastating struggles like higher suicide rates, sexual assault, homelessness and mental illness.

Local organizations and the Patrick J. Baca Library (8081 Central NW) will host an open house and Veteran’s Resource Day on Friday, Aug. 14, from 10am-2pm. At the open house, veterans and their families will have the opportunity to meet and connect with fellow veterans and learn more about local organizations and community resources geared at helping and supporting them and their families. The open house is free to the public. For more information visit the website or call the library directly at 768-4320.
