Red Planet Rising
Thursday, Oct 8: Mars Fiesta
Look to the skies Thursday, Oct. 8, at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science as earthlings and aliens alike celebrate our intergalactic neighbor at the Mars Fiesta. Visit the Space Science wing of the museum to get up close and personal with meteorites, informative displays and scientists who study the red planet.
On hand will be geologist Zachary Gallegos, a candidate for the Mars One Project, which will send a team of humans to see if there really is water out there. The Fiesta is set to launch at 1pm and returns voyagers to their home planet at 3pm. Admission to Mars Fiesta is included in the museum's entrance fee.
