Wednesday, Jun 29: What Are Fractals?

According to Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity, a fractal is "a curve or geometric figure, each part of which has the same statistical character as the whole." I don't really know what that means, but they do make for good black light posters. From what I gather, every part of a fractal contains the whole, meaning it's a perfect representation of our complex, holographic universe. Trippy, bro.

This Wednesday, June 29, starting at noon, Emma Eckert, the Education Director for the Fractal Foundation in Albuquerque, will host a hands on, all-ages presentation called "What is a Fractal?" explaining what the hell these mathematical miracles are. Go learn something you can repeat to sound either super smart or completely insane. Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity ReStore • Wed Jun 29 • Noon-1pm • FREE • ALL-AGES! • View on Alibi calendar
