Event Horizon

Come celebrate the 100th anniversary of Elephant Butte Dam's completion at the state's largest park. This two-day festival on Oct. 15-16 is dedicated to the dam—considered a marvel of engineering in its day—and will include activities like candle making, blacksmithing demonstrations, weaving, and a kids' area with crafts and games. Food vendors and a beer/wine tent will keep you refreshed while you enjoy live music, yoga workshops and magic shows. It's going to be so much fun that I won't even make a joke about elephant butts.
