Thursday, Nov 17: Musicology Colloquium Series: Music in Images in the Arts of New Spain

Sometime between banging rocks together and Ariana Grande, people people started using music to express their religious beliefs. It's not hard to guess why. Music can stir emotions up from nothing and inspire the hardest heart. This Thursday, Nov. 17, join Dr. Ray Hernández-Durán as he examines mission design, manuscript illuminations and secular music to shed light on the religious beliefs of the 16th to 18th centuries as part of UNM's Musicology Colloquium series. The all-ages, free lecture will be held at the Zimmerman Library at 2pm. UNM Zimmerman Library • Thu Nov 17 • 2pm • FREE • ALL-AGES! • View on Alibi calendar
