1918 - Lithuania proclaimed its independence.

1923 – Howard Carter unseals the burial chamber of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. Unleashes the Mummy’s curse, Brendan Fraser. No, scarier still, a cobra killed Howard Carter's pet canary after the discovery of King Tutankhamun's tomb.

1936 – Elections bring the Popular Front to power in Spain. Or the People’s Front, or the People’s Popular front. Or the Popular People’s Front. I forget.

1957 - LeVar Burton born.

1959 – Fidel Castro becomes Premier of Cuba.

1978 – Bulletin Board Goes Electronic. It's electric boogie woogie woogie.

1982 – Thelonious Monk dies.

1987 – The trial of John Demjanjuk, accused of being a Nazi guard dubbed "Ivan the Terrible" in Treblinka extermination camp, starts in Jerusalem. He sucks.
