Stephen Hawking and Roswell and PETA

Those are three proper nouns I’ve never put in a headline before.

Stephen Hawking says extraterrestrial life is likely at least as brutal as we are. "We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn't want to meet.” If aliens come to Earth, they will seek resources, he says—and our destruction. He’s put together a documentary for the Discovery Channel.

So PETA jumped aboard the publicity ship and sent word today that the animal rights group will erect a billboard in Roswell, N.M., to point out that the idea of being abducted by superior beings for experiments is not new to more than 100 million animals in U.S. laboratories.
