I received a pamphlet with our water bill giving a quick lowdown on the city's curbside recycling. In case you didn't read the one you may have received, here ya go.

What can be picked up from your curb on trash day?

ALL Plastic Bottles
Aluminum and Steel Cans
Mixed Paper
Cardboard

Set items out in clear plastic bags, cardboard separate. Glass can be taken to a drop-off site. Click HERE or call 311.

Green waste pick up dates are Dec 3 through 14 on your regular trash day. Set out your leaves, grass and brush in trash bags weighing 40 lbs or less.

Christmas tree recycling is December 31 through January 6. Call 311 for locations.

Telephone book recycling is January 14 through February 29 at all Smith's stores.

Some "Make a Difference" figures cited by the city include:

-Recycling 1 aluminum can = 3 hours of energy to power a TV
-Recycling a 3 foot stack of newspapers = 1 tree preserved
-Recycling 5 plastic bottles = 1 square foot of carpet or 1 T-shirt
