They've started again, folks. That time-honored tradition that's celebrating its 17th year: The annual River of Lights has come back to the ABQ BioPark Botanic Garden (2601 Central NW). Beginning Saturday, Nov. 29, folks can take the kiddos to see a stunning display of Christmas lights, made up into sculptures and featuring a dazzling array of colors. Because that's what Christmas is all about … plants and buildings covered in lightbulbs. Oh, and family and friends and all that jazz. On any given night, you might see some talented musicians. Future performers include Soli Musica, The Enchanters, the Albuquerque Girl Choir and more. Check cabq.gov for band schedule. This all-ages display of that good ol' holiday spirit continues through Jan. 3, but don't count on showing up on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve or New Year's Day. No one'll be there. The lights kick off at 6pm and go until 9:30pm daily, and the cost is a mere $6 for the young ones and $12 for their adult caregivers. Children 3 and under get in for free. Walk-ins are welcome, but if you wanna call head: 505-848-7182. (Mark Lopez)
