A workshop with Saint St. James that teaches the basics for a person first entering the BDsM scene.
When we first enter the BDsM community things can be difficult. There a many questions, what do these terms mean, how do I find a partner, how do I maintain my own safety, am I different or a freak? These are all important baseline questions but there are so many, in this class that is designed for beginners but still interesting enough for the intermediate player. Saint will explore what is expected of a new person first entering the BDsM scene, all the ‘need to know’ information, motivations behind play, safety, and other such topics. If time allows an intro to play may be provided. Saint St. James is an out, twenty-nine year old, married, poly, gay, male, versatile, switch, introverted, hedonistic, kitty, educator. He has been teaching on LGBT and Kink topics for six years and it happy to provide his wealth of knowledge to Self Serve. Saint St James has been active in the Leather/Kink community since 2006. He served on the New Mexico FetLifers Board as the Policies & Procedures Coordinator from 2009 till the group’s closing in 2014. Saint is currently a Member at Large on the board of MAsT Albuquerque and a member of the New Mexico Leather Wolves.
Since his first class in 2009, Saint has presented workshops on subjects ranging from pet play and auto-bondage to race play for southwest groups/conferences, and education is one of his passions. Saint co-produced “Evolution of the Revolution,” NMFL’s 2010-2012 conference, and he served as NMFL’s liaison to Albuquerque Pride. Saint is married to his husband Chance in a poly-kink dynamic, and he’s committed to developing and growing his leather family.
