What is 516 ARTS and why support it?
516 ARTS is an independent, nonprofit, 501(c)3 charitable organization. Our mission is to forge connections between art and audiences, and our vision is to be an active partner in developing the cultural landscape of Albuquerque and New Mexico. We value inquiry, diversity, collaboration and accessibility. 516 ARTS offers participants unique opportunities to experience and engage in new, challenging and thought-provoking work in the context of our particular place and time in world culture. Our programs inspire curiosity, engagement, dialogue, risk-taking and creative experimentation, showcasing established and emerging local, national and international artists from a variety of cultural backgrounds.Â
516 ARTS is important to support because it is a one-of-a-kind, grassroots organization, serving as a vital engine for the arts and the creative economy through the following efforts: providing contemporary arts programs in an accessible learning context, reaching a wide audience of residents, visitors, families, schools and the community; being a thriving hub for the arts in the Downtown revitalization process, attracting crowds for arts and culture activities; playing a key role for the arts and culture in New Mexico and the Southwest by leading expansive collaborations that bring together artists, businesses, and public, private and civic organizations around our common concerns to make a bigger impact than any of us could have alone; and offering world-class arts experiences that showcase Albuquerque as a true arts destination.
516 ARTS is a small organization with a big reach. But we canât do it without community support. So, come out and show your support for 516 ARTS and the artists in our community by buying work at great prices from the 516 ARTSâ Studio Sale in the Gallery + Contemporary Art Auction!Â
