Teachers and students from the New Mexico School of Music invite you to join them for Together We Play!, a unique annual performance featuring solos, duos, ensemble pieces, original works, and the introduction of the school’s allnew NMSM Orchestra. The concert is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday May 3rd at Keller Hall, in the UNM Center for the Arts. This performance is presented as part of the school’s Tenth Anniversary calendar of events.
The program includes a diverse program of compositions, including classical works; piano ensembles; pieces for harp, guitar, trumpet, cello, violin, and voice among others; a performance of “Ave Maria” from sisters Talia (voice) and Abby Czuchlewski (cello); and an original composition for voice and guitar from 11-year-old NMSM student Chloe Nixon.
Together We Play! also features the first performance from the school’s allnew NMSM Orchestra, created and conducted by NMSM strings instructor John (Zheng) Yuan, an accomplished soloist, conductor, orchestral musician and chamber musician.
Founded by Dr. Tatiana Vetrinskaya, the New Mexico School of Music is home to over 500 students of all ages and ranges of musical abilities. The school strives to make learning fun for students, and to provide the highest level of instruction, by maintaining a wellstructured and comprehensive approach.
