CHOREOGRAPHER’S SHOWCASE: Balanchine, Chavez & Others” presents the finest in beautiful international and local choreography.  Included is George Balanchine’s iconic work, “Valse Fantasie” with permission of The George Balanchine Trust, two new works by renowned local artist David Chavez “Gente del Sol“ and “Fuego Rojo“, two works by Patricia Dickinson Wells, “Les Patineurs” (The Skaters) with the return of “Shining”, and the White Swan Pas de Deux based on choreography by 19th century masters Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov.  Additional works by young local artists Kelsey Gorelick Barrows, Dominic Guerra, Natalee Maxwell, Kevin Gallacher and Kendra Williams complete a spectacular evening of dance.  Music ranges from the classical works of Tchaikovsky “Swan Lake”, Glinka “Valse Fantasie”,  Myerbeer “The Skaters”, and Aaron Copeland “Danzon Cubano” to Phillip Glass, Gerry Goldsmith and our own local favorite “Green Chili Jam Band”.  Celebrate Festival Ballet Albuquerque’s fifth exciting year of presenting the finest in classical and contemporary repertory!
