Desiring to share and spread their passion for the saxophone, Ken Johnson and Chadd James, two players from Albuquerque, New Mexico, formed Sax Therapy in 2011 and have been actively performing in the area ever since. With a vision of the instrument as more than simply a solo vehicle in jazz, blues, pop, and rock bands, the quartet explores the vast expanse of possibilities that the saxophone has to offer in ensemble, not only in jazz but in classical and contemporary settings as well.
Composed of some of the finest saxophonists in New Mexico, founding members Johnson and James have cultivated a group unlike any other. Sax Therapy is much more than just four musicians. It is a shared love of the saxophone and as the sum of its parts it is an outlet through which to channel musical creativity and expression. It is a place where the players bring sounds and ideas to life and push themselves and their audience to a higher level.
