"12 Shots" Photography Show
Guerrilla Photo Group's "12 Shots" is hanging through June at the Orpheum Arts Space - Wednesday evenings and by appt. (Contact Shawna at art@guerrillaphotogroup.com.) Featuring the photography of John Carrillo, Nora Sue Parrish, and Rip Williams.
“12 Shots” is a small experimental show, designed to redirect the photographers’ focus to the permanence and immediacy of the craft. Luckily, a few of our esteemed GPG photographers, models, and MUA’s were up for the challenge! Photographers had just two conditions: the entire shoot had to consist of ONLY twelve exposures (including light tests, misfires, etc.) and images had to be submitted as raw files - no post-processing allowed.
That may not sound like a big deal...but ask anyone who’s shot in an unfamiliar environment or has spent a couple hours in front of Photoshop finalizing a single image, and they’ll explain that the majority of gorgeous photography is the result of much, much more than a mere click of a button.
The images you’ll see in “12 Shots” were planned, well-executed, and studio-shot...but we stripped the photographers of some of their favorite tools! We think you’ll be impressed with the results.
