Mozart, Weber & Dvorák
A Valentine's Day symphonic meditation on the depth and power of human emotion. Guest soloist Michael Ludwig performs.
Join us on Valentine's Day for a symphonic meditation on the depth and power of human emotion. Our program begins with Weber’s masterfully constructed Overture to Der Freischütz, one of the cornerstones of Romantic opera, suffused with mystery and feeling. Guest soloist Michael Ludwig joins the orchestra for Mozart's Concerto for Violin in A Major, known for its expressive range, brilliant orchestration, and moments of lyrical poetry. Intimate and original, Dvořák's Symphony No. 8 is regarded by many as the greatest of his nine symphonies, evoking a wide range of emotion and variety of mood.
